John 4:1–6 (NASB95)
Testing the Spirits
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them.
We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
My beloved child, I am in you and you are in Me. I am greater than anything or anyone in this world. I have overcome and will overcome any spirit that is in the world. You have the gift of my Spirit within you. You have the same power living in you that raised Jesus from the dead. My Spirit within you overcomes every spirit that is in the world. Test the spirits. Every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. You are from God and have overcome them, because I live in you and I am greater. Do not fear the spirits of this dark world. You have the light of the world living in you; therefore, you have power over the darkness. I have dressed you in my Spiritual armor with the belt of truth around your waist and the breastplate of righteousness across your chest. Your feet are prepared with the gospel of peace and the shield of faith extinguishes the flaming arrows of the evil one. You wear the helmet of salvation and carry the sword of the Spirit, which is my Word. Use it as your weapon of choice to fight the enemy of your soul. Remain alert at all times and pray in the Spirit. When you have done everything, stand firm in the truth that I am greater than all evil, and I live in you and work through you. You are mine; you belong to me.
Ephesians 6:10–18 (NASB95)
The Armor of God
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
