He Turns Our Darkness Into Light

Today, Lord, you woke me in the middle of the night to David Phelps’ song, Break Free. These lyrics played in my head:

Step out of the darkness and into the light

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Peter 2:9)

My child, you are my chosen one, you belong to me. Declare my praises for I have brought you out of the darkness and into my wonderful light. The chains that once held you in captivity have been broken by me. Leave them behind and step into my freedom. Do not be bound again by a yoke of slavery with the evil one. Trade that life for a new one. I have made all things new. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old is gone, the new is here. I am your lamp. I will light your way. Walk in the light of my glory and glorify me. Let my radiance be reflected in your countenance. Let my Spirit be your guide. Listen to my voice within you. I am your GPS—God Positioning System. I am your true North. I am your Bright Morning Star. Follow me into the light.

Open Up the Floodgates of Heaven

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.Lord, you answered my prayer and woke me up with another song in my heart today. The alarm clock in my mind rang out with the bridge from Meredith Andrews’ song Open Up the Heavens:

Show us, show us your glory Show us, show us your power Show us, show us your glory, Lord.

Father, I pray please show us your glory today. Show us your power. Lord, open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out your blessing upon us.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,†says the Lord Almighty,†and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.†(Malachi 3:10)

My children, ask according to My will and you will receive. Honor Me with your whole tithe and your offerings, and I will throw open the floodgates of heaven, pouring out so much blessing on you that you will not have room enough for it. I am true to My Word. Test Me and see. Tithe the first fruits of your labor, not the leftovers.

Similarly, offer Me the first few minutes of your time each day, not whatever time you have left at the end of the day, if any. I desire a greater intimacy with you. I am a jealous God. I am jealous of your time and devotion. Seek Me in the morning, and you will find Me. I wait with great expectation to hear the sound of your voice calling My name. It’s a pleasing melody to My ears. I desire to meet with you daily and show you My great affection for you. I will build you up in the morning, before the world tries to knock you down. I will give you My strength and courage to face each challenge the day will bring. I will pour out My wisdom and renew your mind for the tasks I give you. I will restore a right spirit within you, so you may shine like a light in a world filled with darkness. A day that begins with Me is a great day. Have a great day, My beloved one!

Lay Down Your Palm Branches

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel.†Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.†(John 12:13-15)

That’s right. Your king is coming. Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. I am here. I have come in the name of the Lord to save you and give you life. You have accepted me and will spend eternity with me. My heart is troubled for those who have rejected me and my words. For I have spoken only what the Father commanded me to say. On the last day they will stand condemned forever.

I am the light. Follow the light and walk in the light. When you believe in me, you no longer walk in the darkness. You have seen the light, and therefore, you have seen the one who sent me. Share this light with those who walk in darkness. Do not hide your light, but put it on a stand for all to see. Reflect the beauty of my glory in the light of your countenance.

O Daughter of Zion, your king is coming. Lay down your palm branches and follow me.

Your Light in Shining Armor

My darling princess, thank you for spending time with me today. I love this time we spend together when our hearts and minds commune.

Your opponent, the prince of darkness, puts doubt in your mind about the work I give you to do. In the process, he steals your enthusiasm and robs your joy. Do not allow it! I have overcome the evil one. Stand firm in my authority. You have my power within you. Let my light shine forth from you. In my Name, overpower the darkness.

Continue on the path I have laid out for you. Do not allow these interruptions to make you stumble. My way is clear and free of debris. Take my hand and let me lead you through these challenges. Together, we will be triumphant. Draw your strength from my Spirit within you.A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.

I am your Light in Shining Armor! I will ride in on my white horse and sweep you off your feet. I am your handsome Prince of Peace, your Protector and Defender, your Rescuer and Deliverer. And you are mine. You belong to me. I love you with an incomparable, everlasting love.

You are my warrior princess. Carry on with the work I have prepared in advance for you to do.

Revelation 19: 11-13, and 16

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and make war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one but he himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God…On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The One Who Lives in You

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (1 John 4:1-6) (Emphasis mine)

My precious child, you belong to me and I live in you. My Spirit that dwells in your heart is greater than the spirit that lives in the world. In Jesus’ name, I have given you power and authority over the spirits of the world. My Spirit of truth in you prevails over the spirits of falsehood that exist around you even now. I instruct you to test every thought that runs through your mind. Is it of the world’s viewpoint, or is it from the God of truth. In me, there is no falsehood. I will not mislead you. I will not condemn you. I will not accuse you. I will not confuse you. I will not lie to you. I am true to my Word in Scripture. I am the God of the universe and I reign over all the world. Test every thought that presents itself and every spirit that influences you. You have the power to overcome evil, darkness, and temptation. Draw on the power of my Spirit within. Submit yourself to me. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to me and I will come near to you.

Serve One Another in Love

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)

Precious one, you are a child of the King. You are royalty. You serve a servant King. I came to seek and save the lost. I saved the lost by giving my life in exchange for theirs. You were lost when I found you. You had wandered away from the fold. I came to save you. I gave my life in exchange for yours. Will you now serve me and give your life to me? Will you bear the cup of sacrifice? Will you give up your dignity for the sake of mine? Will you proclaim me to the world? I am the Way. I am the only way to the Father. I am the Truth. In a world full of deceit, I shine light into the darkness. I am the Life. In me, you will experience a life full of my perfect peace.

Come near to me and I will come near to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. You are my child, my heir. All I have belongs to you. I love you unconditionally. Will you love me more than everything? Will you love others in the same manner that I love you? Will you lay down your life for your friend? Will you lay down your life for me? That simply means that you regard others greater than yourself. You make me your top priority. Your own agenda is replaced by mine.

In your humility, I will lift you up. In your devotion, you will be exalted—not by the world’s measure, but in heavenly proportions. You are blessed to be a blessing. Encourage another as I have encouraged you. Serve one another in love.

Life in the Son

Lord, I have been in a slump because of the dreary weather. Would you shine some light into my life? Does the sun, or lack of it, really make that big of difference?

My child, if you only knew. Life in the Son does make that much of a difference. The sun I have placed in the sky may lift your spirits while it shines; but it does not provide constant light, as you know. Truly, my Son will shine his light into your darkness all hours of the day and night. You never need to endure the storms of life alone. I am with you always. I will shine my light of life into every dark corner. I will light the way for you. I will lead you in the path of life.
 

My sweet daughter, life in the Son does make that much of a difference. Even on the darkest of days, you may have joy in your heart, because you belong to me. I am the true light that gives life. As you walk in the rain, my light will lead you on your way. Follow me and you will never walk in darkness, because I am the light of life. (See John 8:12) I have made my light shine in your heart to give you the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. (See 2 Corinthians 4:6)
 

My precious one, life in the Son does make that much of a difference. You may be downcast for a little while, but consider what I have done for you. I am light. I have given you my light. In me there is no darkness. (See 1 John 1:5) Never again will you remain in darkness, because you believe in me, the light of the world.
 

Are you downcast? Look to me for your happiness. Are your spirits low? I will lift you up on eagle’s wings. Are you depressed? I will remove your sackcloth and clothe you with joy. Are you stuck in a pit? I will pull you out of the pit and place you on solid ground. Are you caught in the middle of a storm? I am with you. I will weather this storm with you, and bring you to a place of rest.
 

Seek me, my child, and I will give you joy in your spirit and peace in your heart. My light will illuminate the darkest of days. Even as we speak, the skies are getting brighter. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me shall stay in darkness. (John 12:46) Life in the Son does make that much of a difference. Choose to live your life in the Son.
