Pursuing the Heart of God – Day 1

Why Me?

Heavenly Father, why me? Why do You, the All Powerful, All Knowing, Ever-present, Amazing God, Creator and Ruler of the universe, desire an intimate relationship with me?

A Message from God’s Heart to Yours:

You are My beloved child, a daughter of the King. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart (Jeremiah 1:5). I loved you even before I knit you together in your mother’s womb. I knew the number of your days before one of them came to be (See Psalm 139:11-16).

You are a crown of splendor in My hand (Isaiah 62:3). I have adopted you as My own child, even My heir (Galatians 4:5), and sealed you for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30), so you will know Me and spend all eternity in My presence (John 17:3).

O daughter, I am with you. Do not fear. I take great delight in you. I will quiet you with My love and sing songs of joy over you. I will bring you home with Me, and I will restore your fortunes before your very eyes (See Zephaniah 3:17-20).

You are My beloved bride and I am your Bridegroom. I rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride (Isaiah 62:5). You are radiant. You reflect the light of My glory and your obedience brings Me joy and happiness.

Why you? I have engraved you on the palms of My hands (Isaiah 49:16). I love you more than you will ever comprehend. When you obey Me, I make My home in you (John 14:23). You are My temple, My very dwelling place (1 Corinthians 3:16). I know you intimately, and I desire that you would know Me as well.

Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you (James 4:8). Remain in Me, and I will remain in you (John 15:4). Delight yourself in Me, and I will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

You are My beloved, and I am your Friend (See John 15:13-15). I desire a deeper intimacy with you. Know Me better and cherish the passions of My heart. Let My mercy, grace, and love transform your heart entirely and eternally.

Why you? I created you, and I desire a greater spiritual intimacy with you. Will you make time for Me, to know My heart? Be still and know (Psalm 46:10). I am God, and I love you, My child.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, Your banner over me is love (Song of Songs 2:4). Thank You for expressing Your love and joy over me, Your creation. Please expand my time and help me to spend more time in Your Word, and more time listening to Your voice as I seek to know the passions and desires of Your heart. Help me understand more of Your love for me, so I, in turn, can return that love to You and others. Help me understand who You are, and therefore, who I am in You, so I may become all that You designed for me before You breathed Your breath of life into my lungs. I desire to know You more intimately and love You more passionately. Thank You for meeting with me today. As I listen to Your voice within, please tell me who I am. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Two-way Conversation with God:

  • Father God, please tell me, personally and individually, who I am to You. (Write what God says to you in your thoughts.)

 

  • Jesus, help me understand, what is Your desire for me? (Record His answer here.)

 

  • Holy Spirit, empower me to live my life for God, in step with You. What does that look like? (Record the thoughts given to you by the Holy Spirit within you.)

 

Review the thoughts God gave you above. Many times the Lord will bring words from Scripture to your mind. Use the concordance of your Bible to look up those words and verses. Read those Scripture passages and record them here. Write any further impressions and confirmations the Holy Spirit gives you as you read God’s Word for you today.

 

Prayer:

Father in heaven, thank You for communicating Your love and affections to me. As I seek to know You more personally, help me remember who I am in You. Give me the confidence to approach Your throne with boldness because Your Son has made me righteous and provided the way for me to experience intimacy with You. Thank You for the gift of Your Spirit in me. I am so blessed that You are with me 24/7, all hours of the day and night. Father God, You never leave me or forget about me (Joshua 1:5). Jesus, You are with me always (Matthew 28:20). Thank You for these promises. Holy Spirit, write them on my heart and remind me of them as needed. In the precious name of Your One and Only Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

You are a Princess

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.Beloved one, I have adopted you as My child. You are the daughter of the King—that makes you a Princess. You are precious to Me. Come and sit with Me this morning. Let Me shower you with My love. I will rejoice over you with singing.

 Rest your weary body and find refreshment for your soul. I am all you need. I love you much more than you will ever comprehend. I will take care of you. I never leave you or forget about you. My promises are true. I am trustworthy. You can depend on Me for everything you need.

 Delight yourself in Me, and I will give you the desires of your heart. Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Search for Me, and find Me, when you seek Me with all of your heart. I wait patiently for you to come to Me. Will you make time for Me today? Sit and talk with Me, My love. I have so much to say to you.

 I am your shepherd, and you are My sheep. My sheep know My voice. I speak to you from within your heart. Learn to recognize My voice. Listen to My instruction. Receive My encouragement. Apply My wisdom. Walk with Me daily. Communicate with Me all day long. I am your closest companion. I will walk you through your struggles and rejoice with you in your successes. You belong to Me. I will protect you and provide for all your needs. Find new hope, confidence, and joy in Me. Do not fear, I love you perfectly.


 

You are a Daddy’s Girl

Because you are [daughters], God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a [daughter]; and since you are a [daughter], God has made you also an heir. (Galatians 4:6)

My precious daughters, I cherish you and hold you in the deep places of My heart. You are eager to hear my voice. You should know that I already speak to you. My Spirit within you relays My messages of love and wisdom to you. You need only quiet yourselves enough to hear the still, small voice of your Lord. I love you, my child. I am your Abba, Daddy. Climb into my lap and listen to Me as I whisper in your ear. You are my beloved one, made in my image. I am a kind and gentle Spirit. Let my kindness and gentleness flow from your heart also. Allow My Spirit within you to guide your emotions, your actions, and your words. Model my love and grace to those around you. Be a reflection of me, a bright light in a dark and weary world. Listen to My words. They will be a lamp to your soul and a light to your feet. I am your Daddy and you are My girl. I love you with all my heart.


 

Daughter of the King

Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel. Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.†(Zephaniah 3:14-17)

You are my Daughter of Zion. As I dwell in Zion, I also dwell in you. I live in your heart. Be glad and rejoice, for I am with you. I take great delight in you. I rejoice over you in song. You are my child. I have adopted you as my own daughter. You are the Daughter of Zion, the Daughter of the King, my precious princess, the beautiful bride of Christ. You are mine. You belong to me.

Do not fear, I am with you always. Rejoice in the one who has saved you. Lift your hands in praise to the King. I am the one true God, and you have access to me at all times. Seek me within your own heart and you will find me. Listen to my voice from within. I will not lead you astray. Let me direct your paths. I have marked out the best way for you to go. Follow me, and I will lead you beside still waters. I will restore your soul. Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of the King! Your God is with you, he dwells in you.

You Created Me–I am Yours

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139: 13-14)

O Lord, my Lord, you saw me before you created me. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. You ordained all of my days before one of them came to be. You know my heart, O God. Before a word is on my tongue, you know it completely. Lord, replace my words with your words. Speak through me. I am your instrument of love. Play me as a harp making sweet, pleasing melodies. I am your megaphone. Let me magnify your name, praising you before all nations. Let the words that flow from my lips be a fragrant offering to you, my Lord. May all who hear me, respond in praise to you.

I delight myself in you, my King. I am fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. You live in me and mold me into your likeness day after day. You have refined me like silver and tested me like gold. I belong to you, O Lord. I will glorify your name and lift your name high above the earth. I raise my hands to the heavens in honor of you. You have adopted me as your own. You are my God and Father, my Creator and Sustainer, my Rock and Redeemer. You rule and reign over heaven and earth. Please rule and reign in me, my King. My heart is yours; my tongue is yours; my will is yours. I surrender myself to you. Use me for your glory today and every day. I love you with all my heart.

My child, I saw you before I created the world. I designed you and formed you in your mother’s womb. I laid out your days before you were born. I know your heart and mind. I am familiar with your ways and know the words on your tongue before they are uttered. I will use you to glorify my name in all the earth. You have surrendered yourself to me. You are like putty in my hands. I am the potter; you are the clay. I will mold you and make you after my will. Daily give yourself into my hands, and I will lead you on the path I have marked out for you. Honor me in all you do and say.

Your heart is safe with me. I will guard it against all evil. Be true to me and remain in me, and I will remain in you. I am your God and Father, your Creator and Sustainer, your Rock and Redeemer. I have freed you from your prison. I rebuilt you and refined you to carry out my plans. I am with you always. Be strong and courageous. I go with you wherever I send you. I shadow you in the wings of my protection. You are mine. Nothing will take you over on my watch. I never sleep, nor slumber. You are always on my mind and in my heart, as surely as I live in yours. You are my darling daughter. I love you beyond your comprehension.

Lay Down Your Palm Branches

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel.†Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.†(John 12:13-15)

That’s right. Your king is coming. Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. I am here. I have come in the name of the Lord to save you and give you life. You have accepted me and will spend eternity with me. My heart is troubled for those who have rejected me and my words. For I have spoken only what the Father commanded me to say. On the last day they will stand condemned forever.

I am the light. Follow the light and walk in the light. When you believe in me, you no longer walk in the darkness. You have seen the light, and therefore, you have seen the one who sent me. Share this light with those who walk in darkness. Do not hide your light, but put it on a stand for all to see. Reflect the beauty of my glory in the light of your countenance.

O Daughter of Zion, your king is coming. Lay down your palm branches and follow me.

Precious in His Sight

My dear child, you are precious. I love you more that you will ever comprehend. You are the crown of my creation. I am your Father; you are my darling daughter. I am the King; that makes you a princess. You are royalty in my kingdom here on earth.

You are made in my image. You are stunningly beautiful. You radiate the brilliance of my light in your eyes and in your smile. You give generously to others with your time and devotion. You love and nurture all those around you. You exhaust yourself meeting the needs of others. You empty yourself to fill another.

Come to me, my child. Let me lavish you with my love. Bask in knowledge that I love you more than you understand. Come to me and let me refresh your weary soul. Spend time with me alone, and I will rejuvenate your spirit. I will energize you with my presence and my word. Sit quietly with me, and listen to my voice.

I love spending time with you. Please take time to meet with me away from the noise and distractions of your busy life. Draw on my peace. It is available to you at all times.  I am the Prince of Peace, and my Spirit lives in your heart. You have access to my peace whenever you need it. Be still and know me more intimately.

You are my child; I am your Father. I am with you always. I will never leave you or forget about you. I care for you immensely. Drink deeply from  the well of my love. Drink until your thirsty soul is satisfied.  Make time for me. I am your daddy. Let me hold you in my arms. I will rejoice over you with singing and quiet you with my love. My love for you is so great that I gave the life of my Son for you. Will you now give your life to me? Live in the abundance that I have come to give you. Seek me and you will find me. I am right here waiting to connect with you. Listen to my voice and live the life I intended for you. I love you, my child.
