His Love is Better than Life

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:1-4)

O Lord, my Lord, your love is better than life. I raise my hands to you and my lips glorify you with praise. I eagerly seek you as a priceless treasure. I long for you like water in the desert. My soul thirsts to know you more intimately. My debt of gratitude wells up deep inside me for your amazing works of grace and the kindness you have shown me. I am the Lord’s temple, the dwelling place of your Spirit. All my days are lived out in your glorious presence. Speak to me, O God, and let me hear your voice within me. I am excited to learn your wisdom and your ways. Teach me what I need to know. Give me understanding that comes from you alone. I am your servant. Set my feet on the path you have marked out for me. Run with me on the adventure you created me for. You are my life. I will find my joy and peace in knowing you. You are the living God who dwells in me. All praise, honor, and glory to you, my King. I love you more than life.


 

 

My Help Comes from the Lord

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. My precious one, I am here to protect you from harm. I watch over you day and night. I do not slumber nor sleep. My eyes are on you every moment of every day. Not only do I see your every move, but I am present with you always. I am your Maker and your Helper. Find your strength in me. Receive your help from me. Turn to me in all things, at all times. I will turn your sorrow into joy, your mourning into dancing, your trial into triumph. I am in control, and I want the best for you. Come to me; cast all your burdens upon me, and I will give you rest. I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I make all things new. No Greater Love

If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.â€

You are my child—not only my child, but also my friend. No one loves you more than I do. I love you so much that I laid down my life for you. Will you now lay down your life for me and do as I commanded you? Love each other as I have loved you. You cannot do this without my help.

At one time or another, love requires sacrifice. Whether it’s laying down your life, your selfish desires, your control, your obsessions, or your possessions, love requires sacrifice and submission. In loving each other, you will need to serve each other, submit to each other, and place each other’s needs ahead of your own. This is sacrificial love. I would not ask you to do anything I have not already done.

When you love each other as I have loved you, my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete. No greater reward is there for your obedience than a joyful heart. This is lasting joy, not temporary happiness. With joy, comes the peace of knowing that you live a life that is pleasing to me. Abide in me and I will abide in you. Love others and remain in my love. Remain in me and experience the love, peace, and joy of the full life I intended for you.

I Will Not Lead You Astray

“The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” (John 10:2-4)

Good morning, my child. I am the good shepherd. I look after my sheep. I call them each by name, and they follow me because they know my voice. You are my sheep; you know my voice. Listen to me. I will not lead you astray. Let me go ahead of you and prepare the way for you. Follow me wherever I lead you. I will remove the obstacles that impede your travel. I will clear the path and mark out the best way for you to go. The road is narrow that leads to life. All other roads lead to destruction. I want the best for you. I will lead you on the path of life. I never said it would be easy. Truly, it will be worth any hardships you have to endure. Remember, I am with you always. You never walk alone. Take my hand. I am the resurrection and the life. Even though you will die, you will rise again with me. Believe in my Name and live forever.

Do not give in to the customs of this world, but live for me, the One who has saved you. You once were lost, but now you are found. The old life has passed away; your new life in me has begun. Turn from your former ways and live in the fullness of the life I intended for you. Seek me with all your heart and you will find me. I dwell in your heart. Listen to my voice within you. All my wisdom belongs to you. It is within your grasp any time you need it.

Spend time with me. Dig into the Scriptures. Listen as I speak to you through the verses in my Word. I am the bread from heaven. I will give you some of the hidden manna. The Good Shepherd

I am the Good Shepherd and you are my sheep. A good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep, as I have laid down my life for you. When you wander away from the flock, I search for you myself until I find you. I call you by name and lead you home. I gather you up as a lamb in my arms and carry you close to my heart. I bind up your wounds and strengthen you in your weakness. I shelter you from the storm and protect you from your enemy. I feed you in rich green pastures and provide living water for your thirsty soul. I know my sheep and my sheep know me. I and my Father are One. When you know me, you know my Father as well. My sheep follow me because they know my voice. Listen to my voice and follow me where I lead you. I will not lead you astray. I am the gate for the sheep. Enter through the gate and receive the rich blessings of a life in me. I am the Good Shepherd, and I will take care of you.

Serve One Another in Love

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)

Precious one, you are a child of the King. You are royalty. You serve a servant King. I came to seek and save the lost. I saved the lost by giving my life in exchange for theirs. You were lost when I found you. You had wandered away from the fold. I came to save you. I gave my life in exchange for yours. Will you now serve me and give your life to me? Will you bear the cup of sacrifice? Will you give up your dignity for the sake of mine? Will you proclaim me to the world? I am the Way. I am the only way to the Father. I am the Truth. In a world full of deceit, I shine light into the darkness. I am the Life. In me, you will experience a life full of my perfect peace.

Come near to me and I will come near to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. You are my child, my heir. All I have belongs to you. I love you unconditionally. Will you love me more than everything? Will you love others in the same manner that I love you? Will you lay down your life for your friend? Will you lay down your life for me? That simply means that you regard others greater than yourself. You make me your top priority. Your own agenda is replaced by mine.

In your humility, I will lift you up. In your devotion, you will be exalted—not by the world’s measure, but in heavenly proportions. You are blessed to be a blessing. Encourage another as I have encouraged you. Serve one another in love.

My Bags are Packed

Good morning, Lord–
I feel distant from you because I have not met with you regularly the past few weeks. Lord, are you there?

I am here, my love. I never left. I have been here all the time, waiting for you to seek me again. You may feel distant from me because you have not met with me lately, but I do not feel distant from you. You are my beloved child. I will never feel distant from you. I eagerly wait for your schedule to open up so that we can spend time together. I patiently wait to see you again. Welcome home, my love. It’s good to see you. You have been on my mind. I have plans for you. I have work for you in my kingdom. Will you help me?

What is it that I can do for you, Lord?

My child, there are some who do not know me; who do not know they can hear my voice. Will you go to them and tell them? Will you share your life with them? Teach them how to listen and hear me.

I will, Lord. Show me the way. Show me where you want me to go? My bags are packed. Use me; I am willing to go. I love to share who You are with those who do not yet know your goodness. Open the door, Lord. Lead me out. I will go where you send me.

That’s the spirit. With your spirit yielded to me, we will accomplish great things together. Share me with all you meet. You do not have to go far to accomplish my will. You have people in your own neighborhood who do not yet know me.

Let me be real, Lord. Let me be your light. Let others see you in me. Please go with me, Lord. I can do all things through you. Please give me your strength and courage.

You have what you have asked for. I will go with you and be your strength. Let’s light the world on fire for me.

Life in the Son

Lord, I have been in a slump because of the dreary weather. Would you shine some light into my life? Does the sun, or lack of it, really make that big of difference?

My child, if you only knew. Life in the Son does make that much of a difference. The sun I have placed in the sky may lift your spirits while it shines; but it does not provide constant light, as you know. Truly, my Son will shine his light into your darkness all hours of the day and night. You never need to endure the storms of life alone. I am with you always. I will shine my light of life into every dark corner. I will light the way for you. I will lead you in the path of life.
 

My sweet daughter, life in the Son does make that much of a difference. Even on the darkest of days, you may have joy in your heart, because you belong to me. I am the true light that gives life. As you walk in the rain, my light will lead you on your way. Follow me and you will never walk in darkness, because I am the light of life. (See John 8:12) I have made my light shine in your heart to give you the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. (See 2 Corinthians 4:6)
 

My precious one, life in the Son does make that much of a difference. You may be downcast for a little while, but consider what I have done for you. I am light. I have given you my light. In me there is no darkness. (See 1 John 1:5) Never again will you remain in darkness, because you believe in me, the light of the world.
 

Are you downcast? Look to me for your happiness. Are your spirits low? I will lift you up on eagle’s wings. Are you depressed? I will remove your sackcloth and clothe you with joy. Are you stuck in a pit? I will pull you out of the pit and place you on solid ground. Are you caught in the middle of a storm? I am with you. I will weather this storm with you, and bring you to a place of rest.
 

Seek me, my child, and I will give you joy in your spirit and peace in your heart. My light will illuminate the darkest of days. Even as we speak, the skies are getting brighter. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me shall stay in darkness. (John 12:46) Life in the Son does make that much of a difference. Choose to live your life in the Son.
