Choose Joy No Matter What

From Habakkuk’s Prayer (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights.

No matter what I do today

No matter if I fail

My strength is found in Christ the Lord

His joy in me prevails

The fig trees may not bud in time

No grapes found on the vines

Yet His joy bubbles in my heart

And on my face it shines

It matters not there are no sheep

My lips will make a joyful sound

That echoes down the halls

Through fire and storms, plenty and naught,

Good times and bad, I’ve trod

Yet I’ve always found true peace and joy

When I rest in the arms of God.

When the road you’re on is long and hard

With snares on either side

Take My hand; I’ll lead you on

I AM your strength and guide.

When challenges present themselves

And keep you from your way

Run to Me, I’m here for you

To walk you through your day.

When sorrow strikes and grief sets in

Your Comforter, I’m He

I’ll hold you in My loving arms

Your strength I’ll always be.

When sin is knocking at your door

Asking you to play

Call on Me, I’ll give you strength

There is a better way.

When hope is gone and your heart feels weak

You need a loyal friend

I AM your ever-present strength

I AM faithful to the end.

When you’re all alone and gripped with fear

Of some impending threat

I am your Fortress and your Shield

That truth, do not forget.

When the task at hand is much too large

For you to do yourself

I AM the One who gets you through

Trust Me to give you help.

You can do everything

You set your hand to do

Do not fear what lies ahead

My strength will lead you through.

Run to the Arms of God

When discouragement beats me down

I run to the arms of God.

He holds my hand and leads me on

Where others have not trod.

He gives new strength to my tired bones

And hope to my weary soul.

He makes me of sound mind again

In Him I now am whole.

He calls me in His righteousness

To bring new sight to the blind

To release those held in prison

If only in their mind.

I will not fear, for I’m redeemed

And called by His new name.

He healed me and transformed me;

I will never be the same.

The road less traveled has its bumps

The sailing sometimes rough

But still I will press on for Him

Because He is enough.

“I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. He Knows My Name

Sweet child of mine, you were in my thoughts before I formed your heart and gave you the breath of life. I know your thoughts, I see your tears, and I hear your call. I am with you wherever you go; I will never leave you. Your life is in my hands.

You are not only my offspring, but also my heir. All that I have is yours. Live in the abundance I offer you. Seek me for your wisdom. Call on me for your strength. Listen to my counsel. Search for me as treasure. Your true identity lies in me. When you know me, you will find your source of joy and peace. I have come to give you life. In my death and resurrection, you receive forgiveness of your sins and reconciliation to me. You, too, are raised to a new life in me. Discard your old ways and find the meaning of true life when you believe in me. I am your Father, you are my own, I call you by name.

Shout for Joy to the Lord

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100)

My blessed child, I have heard your prayer. I woke you with a song in your heart today. Listen to the song and respond in praise. Before you put your feet on the floor, shout for joy! I AM. I created you; you are mine. I am good. Enter my presence with thanksgiving. I have given you the breath of life, and I sustain your life every day. I alone am the source of your strength and joy. You can do all things today through Me. I am faithful to all generations. My love endures throughout eternity. Sing a new song of praise to me today.

Do not fear, I am with You

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right handâ€¦For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41:10 & 13)

Lord, you woke me this morning with these words from the Shoulders song by For King and Country, playing in my mind: “I will feel no fear. I know that You are near.”

Lord, what do you want me to know about this?

My darling child, I want you to know that I love you and I am with you. I am always near whenever you are afraid. I will strengthen you. I will take hold of your hand and lead you out of your fear. There is no fear when you know you are loved by me. I will protect you and take care of you. Be afraid of nothing, for I have redeemed you and called you by name; you are mine. Nothing will overtake you; nothing will harm you. You are my child, whom I love dearly. Be strong and do not fear the days ahead. I am in control. I have your best interests in mind. Trust me with your whole heart. I will help you and take care of you. I hold you close to my heart. I love you more than you know.

I Knit You Together in Your Mother’s Womb

My darling daughter, I knew you before I created you in your motherâ€™s womb. I ordained all of your days before one of them came to be. You are my beautiful creation, made in my likeness. Inexpressible Joy in the Midst of Pain

1 Peter 1:6-9

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

My precious child, even in the midst of your suffering, you are filled with an inexpressible joy because you believe in me. My joy is your strength. Though you suffer grief in your current trials, your faith is being proven genuine and glorifies my name. I have given you a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You are shielded by my power, and I hold an inheritance in heaven for you. Do not fear the future. Be strong and courageous, knowing that I do not give you more than you can bear. My Help Comes from the Lord

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hillsâ€”where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slipâ€”he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over youâ€”the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harmâ€”he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

My precious one, I am here to protect you from harm. I watch over you day and night. I do not slumber nor sleep. My eyes are on you every moment of every day. Not only do I see your every move, but I am present with you always. I am your Maker and your Helper. Find your strength in me. Receive your help from me. Turn to me in all things, at all times. I will turn your sorrow into joy, your mourning into dancing, your trial into triumph. I am in control, and I want the best for you. Open Up the Floodgates of Heaven

Lord, you answered my prayer and woke me up with another song in my heart today. The alarm clock in my mind rang out with the bridge from Meredith Andrewsâ€™ song Open Up the Heavens:

Show us, show us your glory Show us, show us your power Show us, show us your glory, Lord.

Father, I pray please show us your glory today. Show us your power. Lord, open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out your blessing upon us.

â€œBring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,â€ says the Lord Almighty,â€ and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.â€ (Malachi 3:10)

My children, ask according to My will and you will receive. Honor Me with your whole tithe and your offerings, and I will throw open the floodgates of heaven, pouring out so much blessing on you that you will not have room enough for it. I am true to My Word. Test Me and see. Tithe the first fruits of your labor, not the leftovers.

Similarly, offer Me the first few minutes of your time each day, not whatever time you have left at the end of the day, if any. I desire a greater intimacy with you. I am a jealous God. I am jealous of your time and devotion. Seek Me in the morning, and you will find Me. I wait with great expectation to hear the sound of your voice calling My name. Itâ€™s a pleasing melody to My ears. I desire to meet with you daily and show you My great affection for you. I will build you up in the morning, before the world tries to knock you down. I will give you My strength and courage to face each challenge the day will bring. I will pour out My wisdom and renew your mind for the tasks I give you. I will restore a right spirit within you, so you may shine like a light in a world filled with darkness. A day that begins with Me is a great day. Have a great day, My beloved one!
