All to Jesus, I Surrender

By Sindy Nagel

In the early hours, as I laid in bed

A famous hymn rang through my head

The words sang out in grand accord

“I surrender all” to Christ the Lord.

I pondered what the “all” entailed

A posture I already failed

Required me to submit myself

To my inner Holy Spirit’s help.

He asked to set aside my plans

For all the things my time demands

And seek Him first when I awake

To live my day for Jesus’ sake.

So willingly I honored Him

Yielded my desires to Jesus’ whim

I gave my day over to the Lord

And all the time I could afford.

I asked Him to guide me through my day

To take my hand and lead the way

To carry out His main desire

And live my life for Him, on fire.

I offered Him my kids, my Honey,

My home, my job, my time, my money

But the thing He wanted from the start

Was solely my surrendered heart.

For if I give my soul, my all

The rest will follow by His call

According to His great design

My heart and His, they will align.

When I surrender every thing

My spirit and my heart will sing

In joy I will live out my days

I’ll lift Him up in grateful praise.

I’ll wait on Him with bended ear

Until His voice my thoughts will hear

And willingly His voice obey

As He instructs me through my day.

I submit to Him my day, my time,

My heart, my will, my soul, my mind

I surrender myself to Jesus’ whim

See I owe my life, my all to Him.

No Greater Love

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.In John 15:9-14, Jesus says this, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.â€

You are my child—not only my child, but also my friend. No one loves you more than I do. I love you so much that I laid down my life for you. Will you now lay down your life for me and do as I commanded you? Love each other as I have loved you. You cannot do this without my help.

At one time or another, love requires sacrifice. Whether it’s laying down your life, your selfish desires, your control, your obsessions, or your possessions, love requires sacrifice and submission. In loving each other, you will need to serve each other, submit to each other, and place each other’s needs ahead of your own. This is sacrificial love. I would not ask you to do anything I have not already done.

When you love each other as I have loved you, my joy will be in you and your joy will be complete. No greater reward is there for your obedience than a joyful heart. This is lasting joy, not temporary happiness. With joy, comes the peace of knowing that you live a life that is pleasing to me. Abide in me and I will abide in you. Love others and remain in my love. Remain in me and experience the love, peace, and joy of the full life I intended for you.

Phillips, Craig & Dean – What Kind of Love is This Lyrics

Artist: Phillips, Craig & Dean

What kind of love is this that climbs the hill That bears the cross, that takes the nails? What kind of love is this that takes my place That gives His life and clears my name? Oh, I want to know what kind of love is this?

What kind of love is this that gives His Son That bears the sin of everyone? What kind of love is this that cries alone That tastes of death to bring me home? Oh, I want to know what kind of love is this?

It’s wonderful, it’s glorious It’s full of grace and full of mercy Powerful, it’s marvelous That’s what this love is That’s what God’s love is

What kind of love is this that fills my soul That lifts me up and makes me whole? What kind of love is this that gives me hope That dries my tears and brings me joy? Oh, I want to know what kind of love this is?

Jesus, Jesus He’s full of grace and full of mercy Jesus, my Jesus This is what love is That’s what God’s love is

Humble and Holy

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15

My child, humble yourself and submit yourself to me. I am the giver of all good things. First, I give you my grace—grace that saves you into an eternity with me. Second, I give you my name. You are the child I delight in. You have been adopted by me. Third, I give you my Spirit. My Spirit will help you live a life that is holy and pleasing to me. I do not give you empty promises. Humble yourself before me and I will lift you up. Submit your spirit to my Spirit. I desire a greater intimacy with you. You are a stranger to this world, but a friend of mine. Do not conduct yourself as the world desires, but give yourself to me. Resist evil. Come near to me and enjoy the fellowship of our souls.

The One Who Lives in You

A woman is standing at the microphone and holding a pen.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (1 John 4:1-6) (Emphasis mine)

My precious child, you belong to me and I live in you. My Spirit that dwells in your heart is greater than the spirit that lives in the world. In Jesus’ name, I have given you power and authority over the spirits of the world. My Spirit of truth in you prevails over the spirits of falsehood that exist around you even now. I instruct you to test every thought that runs through your mind. Is it of the world’s viewpoint, or is it from the God of truth. In me, there is no falsehood. I will not mislead you. I will not condemn you. I will not accuse you. I will not confuse you. I will not lie to you. I am true to my Word in Scripture. I am the God of the universe and I reign over all the world. Test every thought that presents itself and every spirit that influences you. You have the power to overcome evil, darkness, and temptation. Draw on the power of my Spirit within. Submit yourself to me. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to me and I will come near to you.
